Multicultural Customer Competency for Sales Professionals
The Coca-Cola Company, the world's largest beverage company, developed a web-based multicultural sales curriculum for all their US-based sales representatives. However, both the technology and tools used to develop this curriculum quickly presented many challenges for Coca-Cola. Even after months of development and troubleshooting, animations and videos were not displaying properly, audio files were either not loading or were out of sync with on-screen content, and the courses were not integrating properly with Coca-Cola's learning management system.
After a thorough analysis of both the run-time and source development files, we determined that there were many opportunities to simplify the coding and enhance the performance of the online courseware. By redesigning the file structure, incorporating various design and development best practices, and converting and compressing many of the bandwidth-intensive media elements, the performance issues that plagued this web-based curriculum were remedied.
